I received a rather dubious text message accompanied by a letter from some folks calling themselves Advantis, stating that they’re representing HMRC and alleging that we owe them cash. A few days back, I received a call on my landline featuring a pre-recorded message instructing me to return the call to the same number. I decided to overlook it. Fast forward to today, they rang my mobile - not many folks have both my landline and mobile digits, which makes me suspect it’s from a company I had faith in at some point. It seems I’m inundated with calls from these pesky numbers. Thankfully, since my mobile provider has rolled out a "Caller ID" service, my Truecall device can really shine! Whenever I receive a ring from this number or any others I’d rather avoid, my Truecall takes care of it by picking up (which hits their pocket) and delivering the message, “We’re not interested in your call, kindly disconnect and refrain from contacting us again!” My phone remains blissfully silent, evading any interruptions.
