Somebody rang me claiming to be from a company called something like Ascend Finance. They said they could help me reclaim money from my bank if I’d been mis-sold certain accounts, mentioning they were doing this after alerts from groups like Watchdog. Was quite chuffed when, after I politely asked to be taken off their list, they didn’t get tetchy but instead asked me to hold on for a minute. I waited just to be courteous - now fingers crossed I’m actually taken off their calls.
