10 yearsCalled twice from this number earlier, and left me some recorded messages about PPI on my voicemail. The strange thing is, the number starts with 01773, which is actually my local area code here in Ripley, Derbyshire. Bit odd, really!RipleyDerbyshire10 yearsGot a call out of the blue from this number, some bloke saying he could help me get money back. He mentioned some new rules about banks not paying out the right amount of PPI. Then he asked if I’d ever had a flight delayed because apparently, you can claim money back for that too. Just today, the same number called again, this time a guy named Ryan from Flight Checker in Manchester. I told him I did have a delayed flight back in 2010, and he wanted to know which airline it was. I said Monarch, and he gave me a number to ring Monarch directly. His instructions were to give Monarch my details to get the original booking reference. Then he said to call him back tomorrow on a Manchester 0161 number, said he’d deal with the claim that day and that I should get the money within a couple of weeks. It’s obviously a scam. I didn’t hand over any personal info and would suggest everyone be careful with calls like this.RyanManchesterMonarch11 yearsThey keep ringing asking if Mrs McClean lives here, but we've told them no, they've got the wrong number and asked them to remove us from their list. Still, different voices ask the same question nearly every time. I'm a 15 year old lad answering the phone and I’m getting pretty fed up with it. I recently found out where they’re calling from, so I’m thinking maybe if I say something like “You’re ringing from Ripley” it might put them off - it’s worked with dodgy calls in the past. But this isn’t a scam, just people looking for the same person who clearly doesn’t live here. They just won’t leave us alone, and sometimes I worry I might miss an important call among all the unwanted ones.McCleanRipleySubmit Your Own Report (01773 405302)
