Got a phone call from some dodgy lot, trying to sneak into my bank details. Total scam alert, watch out!

Total scam alert! I let the call go to answerphone and the person never even gave their name. They immediately started saying there were two big charges on my “card” - didn’t say which card or company they represented. One was supposedly an Amazon charge, the other some kind of money transfer but no details at all. They said my “card” hadn’t been used like this before so they were somehow “helping” me avoid fraud. Then they told me to press 1 to confirm, 2 to deny or whatever. The whole thing felt completely fake and fishy. Wouldn’t trust that call for a second.

I just hang up every time, seriously, no legit company would ring you up and start asking you to do all sorts of stuff like that.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, was on the do not call list, felt like they were trying to trick me into giving personal info.

01772615260 rang me pretending to be from BT, saying my phone line was about to get cut off but didn’t explain why. They just said press 1 if I want to know more. I didn’t bother replying since BT would usually get in touch properly if there was a problem. Also, they’d definitely say why they’re suspending the service, so this seemed dodgy to me.
