Got a message from 01772220956 about some issue with my TV licence payment. I looked it up on the official TV licence website and noticed they only use 0300 numbers, so whatever this is, definitely don't ring them back.

I looked up my TV license account and everything's all good, so this has to be some sort of scam. I've never missed a payment. Honestly, just ignore the call; if you do pick up, don't share any info and just end the chat quickly.

Got a message from an unknown number and it looked fishy, definitely a scam. Watch out!

Got a text saying to ring back about issues with my TV licence. The phone's new so no legit company has this number saved or anything. Totally a scam, very worrying really. I'm sure loads of people would be alarmed to get something like that. They also rang me on my landline from the same number.

Zero clue who that was, the number’s not saved on my phone. If it was the TV licence folks, their number would be in there for sure, so must be some other dodgy scam. To the TV licence people, if you’re gonna ring, please use your usual number. I don’t keep this one saved. Got plenty of other numbers stored. Honestly, I’d rather get an email than a call any day.

this number sent me a text asking me to ring them back, so i did. they claimed to be from the tv licence and said i owed money on it. but i actually have a valid tv licence that lasts until february next year. never heard of them before so i havent paid anything and feel like it might be a scam.
