I got a call from akinika Debt Recovery Limited, they’re actually allowed to collect payments for TV Licensing. They’re pretty understanding and want to help you sort out what you owe. If you pay by Direct Debit or card, they offer advice on how to handle it. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else gets a weird call from them, not all dodgy!

This number called my home phone, and as soon as I answered, the call just went quiet. I used 1471 and found the number was 01772330951. I called back and asked who had called. The person said their name was "Anika." I asked who Anika was, and she replied they call on behalf of clients. I asked which clients, who they were and why they were ringing me. Then she asked if I knew Mr Mathews. I said no. I asked what was this about and who Mr Mathews was. She said it had something to do with TV Licences. I told her I don’t need a TV licence at my age. After that, I just ended the call.

I find myself in a tough spot due to my disability, as I'm confined to a wheelchair following a stroke, and the pain of osteoarthritis is relentless throughout my body. Holding onto a phone is quite the challenge for me, yet I'm bombarded with calls-sometimes as many as ten in a single day! It's all becoming quite overwhelming and I really wish these intrusive callers would just cease! I need some peace and quiet!

I received a rather curious call at my father’s home, where the caller was inquiring about me. Upon my dad asking who it was, they abruptly hung up. Just to clarify, I don’t reside there anymore and I’ve never shared my father’s number with any business. It’s all quite perplexing, really.

It seems rather peculiar to me that TV Licensing has enlisted the services of another firm to handle their communications. If I encounter any issues regarding my TV licence, one would expect the actual licensing body to reach out directly. It all feels a bit suspicious, wouldn’t you agree?

These incessant calls begin as early as six in the morning and stretch on until just before ten in the evening, with not fewer than 13 to 15 disturbances daily. I've gone ahead and lodged a complaint with Trading Standards due to the persistent harassment.

This number continually bothers us at all hours, and the moment we pick up, they hang up. As both of us have disabilities, it's incredibly frustrating because we require a bit of time to respond to calls.

I was rung up twice on the first day, then again bright and early at 8:00 am the following morning. They requested my husband's number, but I had to explain that he’s wheelchair-bound and needed a moment to find a pen to jot it down. Later that same day, I received another call where they questioned why they were still phoning, given that we had already been given a contact number. I clarified that my husband works offshore and wouldn’t be back until later, to which the caller mentioned they would be available until 9:00 pm. My husband eventually came home at half nine after a long ten-hour shift, only for the phone to ring again today, the 17th of December, at 9:00 am. It was quite disruptive, especially since I was trying to catch up on sleep ahead of my night shift!
