Got a call from someone saying they were with the Telephone Preference Service, trying to 'upgrade' my phone protection or something. The bloke had a strong Indian accent and somehow already had my name and address. He kept asking about how I pay my phone bill. When I told him I thought it was a scam, he started getting a bit worked up and dodgy. Definitely dodgy behaviour!

So, this guy rings up saying he's from the Telephone Preference Service, trying to sell me some kind of upgrade for my phone protection. I was surprised how he already knew my full name and where I live - weird right? He asked loads of questions about how I pay my phone bill. When I told him I thought it was a scam, he suddenly got a bit shouty and annoyed. Proper dodgy, if you ask me.

I'm from Northern Ireland and when I picked up this number, there was a pause with no sound and then the line just cut off.

There was quite a pause before I heard some muffled sounds, then this woman with a strong accent from Asia said she was calling from the TPS about blocking calls. It was an obvious con, so I just ended the call.

This morning, 1st June 20, at about 09:11, I noticed an incoming call marked as International. When I picked up, there was no message left. Quite odd, really.

Got a call from some bloke called James Smith, sounded like he had an Indian accent and said he was from TPS. He knew my name, where I live and even my postcode, but then started asking for my card expiry date. I told him I wasn’t giving that out, especially since TPS doesn’t ask for that info when you register. He started pushing pretty hard, so I said I’d verify with TPS myself and asked him for his number. He didn’t want to give it and then suddenly said the call was cutting out. I rang TPS directly afterwards and they told me it was a scam.

Someone called saying they were from some telephone blocking company, but it didn’t sound right at all! They kept pushing me to confirm my name and address, but I just refused to share any details.
