I’m pretty sure that was a scam call. I'd suggest using any call-blocking features available on your phone or through your landline provider if they have one.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service, saying they wanted to check if I wanted to block international calls too. The odd thing was, they brought up a direct debit, which confused me since TPS is meant to be free. They wouldn’t take no for an answer and kept ringing back. Proper annoying!

kept telling me he was calling from a bank but sounded really pushy and rude. My older neighbours are getting loads of calls from him. Funny thing is, when you try to call him back, it just says the number isn’t recognised!
