I picked up and got put through to some sort of call centre where loads of people were talking, but no one actually spoke to me. This number has rung me several times now.

Got a call from this number but the person never said their name and even got my name wrong. They claimed it was about some new emergency help service around Bristol. I told them I was fine with our current emergency services like police and fire brigade, then ended the call. I’ve reported it to the ICO and recommend others do the same.

I picked up and said hello, could hear voices in the background but no one actually spoke to me, then the call just got cut off. Seems like a dodgy scam or maybe they’re checking for easy marks to scam later on.

This morning my neighbour got a call from a guy who said his name was Michael Bellamy. He claimed to be from some local care service and was offering support for elderly people. But as soon as my neighbour mentioned she was already aware because her neighbour was connected with that service, he just ended the call straight away.

My mum, who’s 86, got a call from someone claiming to be with Sage & Secure. They tried to sell her a panic button and asked if she had power of attorney, her age, and if she lived alone. They said they’d call back to set up a visit, and later she got a call from 07746194072, a bloke called Michael Bellamy. When my mum mentioned that I’d already organised something for her, he just ended the call.

Just got a call from some lady trying to push a free emergency help service for folks in the DE area, specifically for ages 50 to 85. I was curious about who’s backing this thing, and she said it’s a private firm with police approval. When I asked for the company’s name, she said “Safe and Secure.” But as soon as I asked for their website, she abruptly ended the call. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

A woman rang me up discussing issues relating to crime in my locality, suggesting that they could pop over and have a chat with me about it. I kindly turned down her proposal. The number is straightforward to track back to Arnos Cafe, situated in Rivergate, Peterborough - a good 70 miles away from my home. Quite the trek just to reassure me about crime in my neighbourhood! I would recommend just gracefully declining the invitation and ending the call.
