Got a call saying they're from some emergency aid organisation, but it feels like a Total scam. Just be careful, seems like some dodgy setup trying to trick people.

This number rang me up saying they were part of a neighbourhood crime prevention team and wanted to arrange a visit to fit some kind of alert system for burglaries at my place. As soon as I said I wasn’t keen, they just cut the call. Seems like a dodgy scam to me, and honestly, I’m glad I didn't let them come round - I’m not sure what they might’ve tried if I had.

I got a call from 01733 798 242, and the guy said he was from social services. Trouble was, I couldn’t catch what he was saying properly, so I told him that. Next thing, he just hung up on me. When I tried calling back, all I got was a recorded message saying the number wasn’t in service. Weird!

Someone called me saying they were from the local council, checking in on folks aged 50 to 90 to see if they needed help and giving out a number to call for any "emergencies". They also wanted to schedule a visit to our home. I contacted the council myself, and they had no clue about this. They told me to report it to 101 and get in touch with trading standards.
