Somebody rang me saying they were from Vodafone and had info on three of my family’s Vodafone numbers, including mine. They said they could switch our contracts to cut down on charges. I said no, mainly because I thought it was odd to get a call like that out of the blue offering to lower my bill, and also because the call came from a landline in Rotherham, Yorkshire, not a Vodafone mobile number. I later popped into my local Vodafone shop and they told me it’s actually a genuine Vodafone call centre and that number really is theirs.
