For the past week or so, I’ve been getting calls about PPI claims pretty much every day, sometimes even 3 or 4 times daily, at all sorts of times. I told one of the people calling, and every call has been from someone else, that I don’t have any claim like that, but they just wouldn’t quit.

It’s especially frustrating when I’m trying to concentrate on important work and get interrupted constantly.

Is there no way to put a stop to these calls?

Yeh, it’s definitely Carphone Warehouse in Rotherham. They call and just hang up as soon as you pick up. I think they do it so their agents can prove they’re making loads of calls. Proper annoying! Got a call from someone saying I’m due for a “free upgrade”. I asked what exactly they were upgrading. Turns out it was a new phone. I told them I just got a shiny new iPhone 6, so why would I need another one? Then they said the company used to be Car Phone Warehouse but now it’s a different business, and that I’d have to sign a brand new 12 month contract for basically the same price, only 50p more, with a bit more data. I explained I’m on a rolling monthly contract and have no interest in locking myself into a year-long deal or paying extra. Pretty sure they weren’t really offering me a free upgrade after all. Told them to call later as I was busy at work. Next day, someone else rings asking again if I want to upgrade my phone. I repeated that I already have a new one, and they just said sorry and hung up. Classic telemarketer not having a clue what they’re doing!
