My caller ID flagged this as possibly a scam or fraud, but the young guy with an Asian accent who asked for me by name claimed he was calling from Vodafone in South Yorkshire. He was fine with me double-checking by calling Vodafone directly, which I did. Vodafone confirmed that the number did belong to them. When I questioned why the caller ID showed a scam warning, he suggested it might be because they’re part of a sales team. Seriously, what’s that about?

This caller said they were from Vodafone and even knew my name, saying they needed to "make sure my phone was running alright." They were quite pushy, kept being rude and kept hanging up on me. I'm pretty sure it wasn't actually Vodafone, so I messaged Vodafone on Twitter just to be sure. Seriously, never share any personal details with random callers, especially ones claiming they’re just making sure your phone’s working properly.

They’ve been ringing me daily for the past few days. Today I picked up. It was VODAFONE, which is my current provider. The caller sounded like he was from the Midlands and was offering some sort of tablet deal, saying it was a thanks for being a loyal Vodafone customer. He didn’t really explain the offer much, and I told him I wasn’t interested. He just said “ok, thanks” and ended the call. Fingers crossed they don’t bother me again - I forgot to ask them to take my number off their list.

Got 7 missed calls today, usually about 4 a day. Called the number back but they didnt say they were from Vodafone, sounded all garbled and the company name wasnt clear but defo not Vodafone. I got a call from what seemed like a call centre representing Vodafone. They were offering me a Samsung tablet for free, supposedly worth about £300, and the only cost was £13 a month for a 4G plan on a 24-month contract. The £13 would just be added onto my existing Vodafone mobile bill. I was curious at first but turned it down because I already own a tablet. The person was really polite and easy to speak with. They didn't push me or make me feel awkward when I declined.
