They called me several times, I picked up once and there was this automated female voice saying their records showed I’d been in a car crash. I told them I hadn’t, then the line went dead for a bit and the voice asked when it supposedly happened. I don’t even drive or own a car, plus I haven’t left my home in like three months lol.

They seemed to know loads of personal stuff, even names. I totally lost my cool and told them to quit calling because it was getting ridiculous. They didn’t sound professional at all, and when I started getting loud, the bloke on the other end got all nervous and hung up. Seriously, don’t give them any details or take any deals from them!!

Some annoying call centre person claimed to be from Vodafone. I asked if she was a genuine Vodafone worker or just trying to scam me. She insisted she was with Vodafone. So I asked for the amount of my last bill. She said she couldn’t provide that info. I just laughed, ended the call, and blocked the number. My phone flagged this number as possible spam, but I picked up just to check. The caller said they were from Vodafone and tried to offer me some discounts, even though I’m still tied into a contract. They even mentioned the exact make and model of my phone, which surprised me since I got it second hand from a local shop after I lost my previous one. I’m not sure how they knew that. The only thing I can think of is that I once clicked a dodgy link in a spam message that came through my mate’s WhatsApp, so maybe that’s how they got hold of my info?

Such a nuisance! Keeps ringing and since my phone is an old reliable model, it doesn’t have a block option, otherwise I’d block them in a heartbeat. They pretended to be Vodafone support but it was just their sales crew. Claimed I’d get a free iPad mini. Saw I’d missed a call earlier this week so I was ready. They tried pushing a 1Gb data sim deal at £22 a month for 24 months. That’s £528 in total. While still on the call, I googled the iPad price - comes to £319. So basically I’d be paying £209 for the sim over two years. Almost £9 every month for a measly 1Gb! Told the guy he should be ashamed charging over £500 for a sim and a maybe-free iPad. Then I just ended the call.

Vodafone called me up saying I could get a free Galaxy Tab for being a loyal customer, but it wasnt really free like I told the person on the phone. They wanted me to pay an extra £3 a week. I told them that loyalty is actually my main problem with Vodafone and if they really valued me as a customer, they’d just give it without charging. The lady wasnt convinced and told me they’d note it down if I ever changed my mind. Tried logging into my Vodafone account to stop these marketing calls but there’s no option online to do it directly - you have to either call them, email or use their live chat. This number has rung me a few times and it says it’s from Rotherham. I’ve never picked up though.

I just let the call ring out and then checked here. Was curious cos some people were saying it isn’t a Vodafone number, but one comment mentioned it’s listed on their site. I looked it up but can’t post links, so head to Vodafone UK’s site, go to Support and type "is it vodafone calling" into the "Ask us a question" search box. The number is definitely listed there. Click the pop-out icon to see everything. At the bottom it says, “If you want to stop marketing calls from us, text STOP to 9774.” I sent that text last year but still get calls. Maybe it’ll help someone else though.

Sounds like one of those persistent Vodafone sales lot to me. They send texts signed off as voda but something about the call felt off. They were hard-selling a tablet but when I asked about the full price, they just rambled on about discounts. In the end, I told them it wasn’t worth paying extra over time when I could just pop down to John Lewis and buy it outright on my credit card. The monthly charges actually added up to more. They’ve called me again since then.

For sure a real Vodafone number. I checked their website and found a bunch of their sales team contacts, and this one’s definitely on that list.

I didn’t pick up, but after looking it up on Vodafone’s site, turns out this number belongs to their sales department. Bit annoying, sure, but it’s legit!

So, I get calls saying they're from Vodafone, and they already have my name and what phone I use. They start off asking if I’m okay with my data plan, then quickly switch to talking about tablets. I tried to shut it down, and they just dropped the call. It’s weird though, Vodafone never used to chase up like this! Feels a bit dodgy if you ask me...

Got a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone. They only knew my name and phone number but had zero clue about my contract details like when it’s up for renewal or upgrade. Also, they didn’t realise I’ve got another phone on the same plan. Felt like a dodgy scam to me... really fishy stuff!!!???

This number has rang me a couple of times before lunchtime today. After looking through the other comments, somethings feels off.....If it really is Vodafone, why would they keep calling so much just to offer a free tablet? Tablets aren’t cheap from what I know! I’m a Vodafone customer myself for almost two decades and they’ve never been this pushy with calls....I’m definitely adding this to my block list!

I checked with Vodafone and they told me this number isn’t legit since Vodafone only uses numbers starting with 03, 07, or 08.

I received a call from this number earlier, and when I picked up, they were keen on persuading me to upgrade my contract. They asked for my PIN, which I found a bit dodgy, and when I mentioned I didn’t have my password to hand, I could distinctly hear what sounded like raucous applause and background chatter. It struck me that this was a typical scammer tactic. When they proceeded with a security question, I told them I’d need to ponder the offers they suggested and promised to ring back later.

Don’t pick up if this number rings you. I rang Vodafone myself because this number kept bugging me. They told me it’s definitely not their call centre and said I’d better block it. Apparently loads of people have reported this number and Vodafone said it’s a scam.

Somebody rang saying they were from Vodafone and wanted me to verify some info to protect my data. When I told them no, they said I should ring 191 myself. I said fine, but then they started asking for my full name. I didn't give it, and they asked why I was being so suspicious. I just said "I'll pass" and ended the call. Definitely wouldn't put any faith in those callers - sounds like one of those outbound dialler scams. Not sure who else they've been pestering, probably trying to match names with numbers.
