I got a ring from them about some repair work. The person on the line was an Asian gentleman, definitely not a robot. He mentioned something about repairs. I’d recently complained to a different council about someone else's repairs, so I wasn’t sure if this call was legit. What struck me as strange was that they refused to say which company they represented or the address they were talking about. When I asked how I could be sure it wasn’t a scam, he said there was no need for me to provide any bank details. Still, I wasn’t buying it and ended up explaining (truthfully) that the person involved was actually looking for alternative accommodation instead.

Got a call a moment ago from a number saying they were part of the "housing team", talkin about complaints made re damp and mould. The caller said it was from somewhere in Rotherham, but I live like hundreds of miles away from that place and never reported any problems like that, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call about some leaks in the building and they mentioned they were checking in with tenants. Thing is, the number showed up from Rotherham, and I’ve never even been there. What’s even funnier is they rang me on my work number! Absolutely bizarre.

I tried making weird sounds to see what their little bot would do. After saying "hello, are you there?" twice, they just hung up. Some of the replies on here are hilarious. I’m definitely going to try the “I died in a car crash” story next, or maybe just call them scammers and watch them lose it. I’ve been watching videos on YouTube where people mess with scammers, even hacking their security cams and reporting them to the police. It’s crazy that places like India let this stuff go on. Why send them aid when they’ve got their own bloody space program and still have scammers calling us? We should just stop giving money until things change. [Also, not racist at all - my partner’s from Bangladesh, we met at university. I used to be in an anti-Nazi group that tracked down and confronted Nazis. Absolutely hate racism and Nazis.]

I put up an ad on Gumtree that had my phone number visible. Not long after, this number called me. It was totally clear it was one of those call centre scams, they said they were experts in road accidents. I’m sharing this because it’s the third time they've called me today!

I received a call from someone who alleged they were representing an independent insurance firm, claiming they were in the business of comparing life insurance options. This chap insisted he had a superior life insurance proposal that could offer me savings and requested to go over my current policy. I informed him that I was content with my existing life insurance arrangement and kindly requested that he take my number off his list!

Looks like a call centre from around Peterborough to me, loads of numbers close to this one popping up here (same prefix, just the last digits change). They never leave a voicemail or any message, so no clue who they really are. I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t know. Had a quick search online for this number but couldn’t find anything useful. Has anyone actually picked up when this number rings? Sounds like some PPI claim people to me again.
