Some bloke rang me saying he was from the council about issues with damp in my flat, but I just blocked the number straight away. Seemed dodgy to me.

Don’t be deceived, this is just a pre-recorded message that pauses for your replies. It's an automated call through and through!

I received a call from a number that was indicated as Rotherham Town Centre, England. It was an automated voice that simply said, “Hello. How are you?” before abruptly ending the call. Nothing more was communicated.

This scam is pretty smart, tbh. You get this robotic voice, but I’m pretty sure there’s a person on the other end listening and feeding the right answers. Still, doesn’t change the fact it’s a scam. Gotta admit, I’m kinda impressed by how well it’s put together though.

Got one of those annoying recorded calls pretending to be human. Didn’t even waste time, just blocked the number immediately.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be inquiring about potential damage to my rental property. When I acknowledged there was some damage, they immediately probed for specifics. However, when I sought clarification on which property they were discussing, they abruptly disconnected the call. I didn’t catch a name, but it was definitely a man's voice, not a recorded message. It all felt rather suspicious.

They've phoned me thrice now and each time I've asked to be taken off the list. I made it clear again, and though they said "yes sir, got it", they went on with some quick survey anyway. Really no respect at all.

I received a call where there was complete silence on the other end.

I chose not to pick up when that number rang as it was unfamiliar to me. No voicemail was left, so out of curiosity, I decided to return the call-at my own cost, mind you, since I was abroad. What greeted me was a recorded message that said, "Thanks for getting in touch, press 1 to opt out of future calls." I hesitated to press anything, though, fearing it might have the contrary effect!

I received a call that was completely automated, and the voice introduced itself as Emma Wilson. She claimed to be from the housing disrepair service, reaching out regarding some issues I had previously mentioned about my landlord's property. But honestly, it all sounded a bit off, so I decided to terminate the call and promptly blocked the number.
