There was this call with loads of noise in the background and the bloke had an accent I couldn’t place. I asked straight up if it was a scam and he just ended the call. I keep getting these irritating calls like this all the time. Also, when I try calling back using 141 to hide my number, it never shows up properly and they come up as unknown.

Honestly, I don’t know if this is some kind of prank. They keep ringing me constantly, but whenever I pick up, they just hang up. I've blocked one number already, but then another one shows up doing the exact same thing. It’s pretty frustrating!

This evening, I got a call from someone named Mike who was pitching a bargain holiday to Spain. Seemed genuine enough at first, but I had to decline since I’m dealing with some health issues right now.

When i picked up my old landline, which i stopped using after cancelling BT a couple of years back, all i got was silence. Curious, i dialled 1471 and was shocked to see that the number showing up wasn’t mine but belonged to another BT customer. Even more worrying, i could actually make calls from their number without any issues. I called BT at 150 straight away and they admitted it was a crossed line and promised to investigate why i could make calls billed to someone else's account. That was at 10.33am on 9th July 2020, and even now, hours later, the line is still open.

Got a ring from this number earlier but it showed up as international on my caller ID, so I just left it. Then the answerphone kicked in and I could hear a phone being hung up, so maybe it wasn’t a robo call? Think I’ll have to switch my call minder back on just in case.

Honestly, I’ve no idea who kept ringing me up, then the line just went dead. I kept shouting “hello” the whole time but no one answered. Right after I ended the call, the same number rang again but still no one spoke. I rang up my network to see if they could track the number down, but the worst part - turns out they charged me extra for those calls. Proper ridiculous!
