Got a call from a woman who asked if I was alright and if my missus was nearby (she even knew her name). Then she started going on about how she missed me and all that. Honestly, I have no clue what the point of the call was, so I just ended it pretty sharpish. I don’t know a soul in Skelmersdale either.

Got a call on my mobile from 01695768306 around 2pm today (21/05/21), but as soon as I picked up, they just hung up. From what I’ve heard, it might be some Life Insurance firm. I’m on the TPS list so they really shouldn’t be ringing me up. Seems like they don’t care about the regulations, which makes me not trust them at all. Plus, there’s a chance the number showing up isn't genuine. Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent asking for my husband. I asked her who was calling, then she wanted to know if I was Mrs #######. I said no and asked her again who she was, and she just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now, but before that, I tried ringing it back from my landline. Got a call from someone saying they were with Clear Compare, some insurance company, and wanted to chat about life insurance. They said they were from Liverpool, but I knew it was dodgy straight away. When I asked who exactly they thought I was, they just hung up on me. Reported the whole thing to Action Fraud just to be safe. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

Absolutely horrible scammers! Told them to stop calling and take me off their list, but the guy got really hostile, saying I’d signed up with them, which is total rubbish. Then he accused me of giving permission for the call - also a lie. I ended the call right away and blocked the number straight after. Would recommend blocking these people too, they’re definitely not to be trusted!

Got a call from someone with a South African accent who asked for me by name. He was trying to pitch some "market comparison life insurance service," saying life insurance is obviously super important. I said no thanks nicely, but he kept pushing, so in the end, I just hung up and blocked the number. The call quality was pretty rubbish too.

I got a call on my house phone, the guy asked for me by first name. When my missus asked who it was, he said he’d worked with me and claimed to be from Aviva London. Then he just stopped talking, so she ended the call. Looked up the number later, turns out it’s from Skelmersdale. I’ve never been with Aviva or worked in London. Pretty sneaky way to try and scam. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a couple of calls today from these guys looking for a Dean Howlett. Told them nicely twice that they had the wrong number, which I've had for more than 15 years. They just said they'd remove me from their list, sorry about that. Then, about ten minutes later, they rang my wife's phone asking for the same person. When she told them they had the wrong contact, they quickly switched to offering a life insurance review. Sounded dodgy to me. Definitely blocking that number now.
