Initially, it started with a rather dodgy automated message informing me of a forthcoming £300 transaction to Amazon, followed by an £1100 transfer to some international payment service. The message sought to verify these purported payments. After that, a human voice came on, claiming to be from VISA, stating they were investigating these dubious charges on my debit card. I expressed my confusion over these supposed payments and requested they be stopped immediately. The caller then proceeded with some so-called security checks, but before I knew it, the line went silent and they didn't attempt to ring back. I have serious doubts about the legitimacy of this call. Consequently, I contacted my bank, who reviewed my current account and found no trace of these transactions.
