Got a ring on my mobile from this number, but as soon as I picked up, the call just cut off. So I rang back and said, “You do understand that answering the call means you’re charged, right?” A bloke with a thick subcontinental accent, kinda muffled like he was speaking through something, asked for me by name. I neither confirmed nor denied it was me. He launched into a sales pitch about insurance, mentioning Royal London among others. I just told him straight, “I’m not interested in what you’re offering. I’m hanging up now and blocking your number.” Which I have done.

Got a call yesterday, 28th February 2020, from someone who mentioned my name and was keen to chat. They were trying to discuss my insurance policy. I mentioned that I've got a Financial Adviser who handles that stuff for me, so I wasn’t keen on taking it further. Best, Dodger E17

Had a strong Indian accent and said his name was Michael? I told him to send me the info in writing if he was legit. Then I just hung up. Definitely a scam, watch out. So frustrating! They phone at all sorts of weird hours, mostly around dinner time, but when you pick up, no one’s there. I never bother calling these numbers back. If it was something urgent, they’d call during normal hours or actually say something.

The caller introduced himself as 'Insurance Sam', but I can assure you, he’s anything but trustworthy!
