Claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse; it could be a sales pitch or a dodgy call. Best to be cautious.

I received a call from a chap claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, and he tried to entice me with some so-called "exclusive" mobile phone offers. However, I quickly realised that these deals were nothing but a ruse. It’s a sneaky scam aimed at filching your financial information! Be on your guard!

Got a call from an unknown number at 10:45 this morning. My phone flagged it as maybe a scam or fraud call. The person hung up straight away when I didn’t give a friendly response after they asked how I was!

I got a call from an Asian woman saying she was with O2 and could cut my bills by 40%. I said no thanks and she ended the call nicely.

The caller claimed to be from O2. When I questioned him, he started shouting and insulted me, calling me an M F'er. He spoke with an African accent. I couldn’t help but laugh. I told him it takes one to know one, then he just ended the call. Honestly, quite let down that O2 might have people like that working for them.

I didn’t pick up, as I get loads of calls like this, but I looked it up here and BLOCKED it! Really appreciate your help. Does anyone know how to make them STOP FOR GOOD? Fingers crossed.

I picked up and said hello but the caller didn’t reply at first, then they said hello back to me, i answered the same way but they seemed like they couldn’t hear what i said. This went on about 4 times before they just hung up on me. I think it might be some sort of scam, but i’m not totally sure, so at the very least it feels like harassment.

I told the bloke, who was trying to flog phones, that he’d rung my daughter’s number and she’s underage. He still tried to make out he was legit. When I got a bit firmer with him, he started swearing at me, which honestly just made me chuckle. I said, “Gotcha now!” and then he just cut the call.

I got a call from this number, but there was a weird lag when I picked up. A woman finally spoke and was chuckling like mad. She claimed to be from Currys/PC World. When I asked where she got my number, she just hung up on me. Definitely not a legit call from Currys/PC World - it’s a SCAM for sure.

Got a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse offering some kinda deal. Told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call, then blocked the number. Barely 5 minutes later, they rang back from a number that was just a bit different, finishing in 01678659895, so I blocked that one too.

Was watching the news this morning and they said Carphone Warehouse is no more, Currys runs it now and they DEFINITELY don’t cold call folks. Total scam effort from people who can barely speak or understand English properly. Makes me wonder if people in India get loads of calls from English accents trying to con them, or is it just a one-sided thing with scammers who have zero morals or respect?

They said they were from Microsoft, Currys, and Vodafone all in one call. Really strange chat. They openly said they’ve scammed around 1.5 million people and even confessed to purchasing the number 01678 659893 from another dodgy call centre. Also mentioned their family are Indian cops. The call centre seems to be in Kollam, South India, right across from Axis Bank at coordinates 8°53'35"N 76°36'50"E.
