In the past couple of days, this number has tried ringing me about 8 times but not a single word from the other end. Since it's unfamiliar, I've just blocked it on my phone.

I got a few calls from this number, and when I picked up at last, the woman claimed to represent some nuisance call blocker I supposedly had signed up for (which I definitely hadn’t). She then started asking for my debit card’s expiry date. I told her I had no idea and wasn’t going to share that info. She kept saying she just needed the expiry and nothing else. I ended the call, but moments later, she rang back again, and I ignored it.

some guy called saying his name was alex, sounded like he was asian. i told him to quit ringing me but he just wouldn’t take the hint. after the 4th call in a day i just hung up on him. really annoying!

Got another call from those scamming lot today, absolutely annoying!

They keep ringing several times every day, but never bother to leave a voicemail. I just don’t pick up the landline anymore. If it’s something important or real, they’d leave a message or try to reach me through another way.

It seems I was approached by an individual claiming to be enhancing my call blocking service! Quite humorous, really. He mentioned that I was set up with a direct debit for it, which I acknowledged. Then he, an Asian or Indian gentleman, informed me that my debit card was out of date since 2018 and insisted he required further details. I grabbed my card and pointed out that it wasn't due to expire for another couple of years. He then proceeded to ask for this so-called “call blocking number” (can you believe it?) that he said would be found on my Visa card, nestled beneath my name…two digits followed by another two, then some longer sequence. Essentially, he was fishing for my bank account number! At that point, I firmly told him to clear off (or something along those lines).

They rang my mum, who's quite old, about four times telling her that if she didn't buy their service her nuisance call blocker would be cut off the next day. The poor lady got really scared and nearly got conned. What a load of rubbish! Proper scumbags.

I just got a call that matched the description here - when he started asking for my card info, I said I'd looked him up and realised it was a scam, then I ended the call straight away.

This guy called saying his name was Alex, with like, an asian accent or something. He started going on about me getting random calls. When I said he was actually one of the annoying calls, he got proper rude. I just told him to sod off and multiply, haha.

I got a call from someone who claimed they needed to update my phone call barring settings. To verify my ID, they asked for the expiry date on my debit card to confirm my direct debit info. They kept pushing but finally gave up once they saw I wasn’t going to share any details.

Typically, I tend to ignore phone calls due to the incessant barrage of scams these days. I prefer waiting for legitimate callers to leave a message on my voicemail. However, I was blindsided this time as a dear friend of mine is gravely ill, and I’m listed as their point of contact. Unfortunately, I mistook this call for yet another scam. Take my advice-steer clear of this number!
