I really think this call was some sort of scam trying to get my personal info. I ended the call as soon as she mentioned recording my voice or something like that. The lady didn't sound like a native English speaker, maybe Indian, with quite a strong accent. She couldn’t clearly tell me who the research was for, which made me even more suspicious. I've blocked the number and intend to report it as well.

I called the number back since it looked local, but the answering machine had an American accent and played some weird waiting music. After listening for about a minute, I just gave up and hung up.

Totally a scam. The caller hardly uses any English, gets proper annoyed if you ask how they found your number, and won’t take it off their list.
