Got a call from a bloke with a British accent claiming he was ringing from Wrekin Energy about our home having the highest energy consumption around. When I asked how he got that info, he went quiet then said their company was working on behalf of our energy supplier. I asked which supplier that was and he couldn’t give me an answer. At that moment, I called him out as a scammer and a waste of time before hanging up. Pretty sure he was just trying to flog loft insulation like all the other calls I get of this kind.

Got a random call from some guy called Gordon, saying he was the Official Energy Advisor for our area. He kicked off by asking if we owned the property. Honestly, he sounded like he was either reading off a script or just playing a pre-recorded message since he didn’t miss a beat even after we said it was a business, not a home. I just ended the call and blocked the number. Would recommend you do likewise!

It sounded like a busy call centre, loads of chatter in the background. The guy claimed he wasn’t selling anything, said he worked for an energy firm and just wanted to check if I owned the house. I told him I wasn’t the owner and ended the call quick smart. Now I’ve blocked the number. Seriously, when will these people stop finding new numbers to call? You’d think BT, EE, Vodafone and the rest would step in and shut these numbers down. Just have a look here - it’s clear what they’re up to, so why not just cancel the number?

I received an uninvited call from someone named Gordon, who claimed to be the so-called "official energy advisor" for our area. He inquired whether we owned the property. It was evident he was either reciting a script or using a well-orchestrated pre-recorded message for his 'sales pitch’, as there was no change in his tone when I mentioned we were actually a business. I suspect this was gearing towards a sales scam, so I decided to cut him off and block the number. I highly recommend others do the same!

I missed a call from this number earlier today at 15:31 on the 8th of February, as it's not one I recognise.

It seemed to me that I was greeted by a pre-recorded message, quite clearly saying, "farewell."

It's really worrying that they have all my details like my name, address and postcode. I warned the caller that I was going to report them to the police and they just ended the call. Surely it's about time the authorities stepped in to deal with these calls, especially since they're targeting vulnerable people.
