The caller said they were from some government programme regarding my boiler and asked if I owned the property. They even used my maiden name, which felt a bit off, so I told them to take me off their list and they just ended the call.

Total scam, honestly. Some bloke with an Indian/US accent called saying I had a cheque ready for me. When I told him to get lost, he shouted back "no, you get lost!" Absolutely brilliant. Then I flipped it on them, asking if they fancied buying my car? Or my house? Maybe some insurance? Anything just to keep them talking until they gave up. For a laugh, try chatting to them in a silly accent. Eventually got fed up and blocked the number.

I received a call from a PPI claims number, and the chap became quite hostile when I requested him to remove my details from his records and obliterate the information. I promptly ended the call and made sure to block him. The number appeared to be originating from Neath in Wales, but intriguingly, when I rang back while hiding my number, he claimed he was located in Leeds.
