I got a call from a guy named Keith, he was Asian and said he was from Vodaphone. I was waiting for a call from them since I’m getting a new phone. I gave him loads of info, even my bank details. Then, within an hour, my account was wiped out! £3,643 gone and my bank said there’s nothing they can do since I gave the info willingly. NOT A FRAUD OR ANYTHING! I wasn’t sure who was calling so I didn’t pick up. Looked up the number on google and found Vodafone’s website where you can verify their official numbers. It showed it’s a legit Vodafone number and they were ringing to tell me about new deals or products. I phoned the number back and got into a proper argument with a bloke, telling him about my chat with Vodafone. Some bloke claimed he was from Vodafone. He never asked for my name or anything, so I figured it was a scam instantly. Blocked him straight away!!!!!!!

This makes it the third phone number, each from separate area codes, linked to this scam. Thankfully, my phone lets me block these numbers, so I've already done that. On 24th April, I got 3 calls from this number, and now I've just received a second call that was automatically blocked.

Got a call from "Calum at Vodafone" (think he said Newbury?) - proper pesky and felt a bit dodgy. Definitely not a legit call. Number was 01635792620.

I’m pretty certain it’s some kind of undercover cops! Or maybe scammers who’ve somehow got into their crew. Don’t talk to them, they use voice recognition and honestly, you should think about changing your phone number because they might be trying to hack you!!

Got a call claiming to be from Vodafone offering me a great deal because I supposedly have a 'big value bundle'. Checked the Vodafone site at [#][#]vodafone[###][###]/isvodafonecalling/ and it confirmed they really are Vodafone. Seems legit at first glance.

Got a call from Vodafone the other day, offering me a sim-only plan even though I'm on PAYG. I told them nicely I wasn’t really looking for any deals. They usually ring me from a different number though, which I’ve had to block since they keep phoning me about offers every couple of weeks.

Someone rang me claiming to be from Vodafone and started asking for my name, where I live, if I own my house, and details about my bank account. I got a bit wary and asked why they needed all that information. They said it was for a credit check, but it sounded dodgy to me. I refused to share my bank info and hung up straight away. Pretty sure it was a scam.

I’m with Vodafone on a pay as you go plan, so I guess I shouldn’t have been shocked when they called. Still, my phone flagged the number as potential spam which made me a bit wary.

So I got a call from this number yesterday, it was a young woman from Vodafone trying to pitch me a sim-only deal (I’m currently on pay as you go). I was actually considering switching to sim-only, so I asked her for some more info. Strangely, she said she didn’t have any details to share right then and promised to ring me back in about an hour. Sure enough, my phone buzzed exactly an hour later but only for a second before cutting off - I couldn’t even pick it up. Just now it did the exact same thing again, a quick ring and then it ends. Bit odd, really.

I was greeted with silence as they hung up before I had a chance to reply. This is merely a speculation, but if they happen to be dodgy operators utilising automated calling systems, I earnestly advise against returning their call or having any communications through platforms like Discord! There's always a risk that they could not only have your phone number but perhaps your address too. Some unfortunate folks have faced severe consequences, even in the US, where some were swatted and tragically harmed. You can find ample information on this by searching YouTube. There’s a plethora of numbers that call and disconnect the moment you pick up. I've also taken the liberty of messing with scammers using BOBRTC on Discord, which is a free service! So, if you suspect these calls are affiliated with Vodafone, it's safer to ring back using their official number, like 191. Be cautious and take care, Chris Colin.

My phone rang and showed it as a possible spam call straight away, so I didnt pick up. Instead, I googled the number to see if it was safe and lots of the results said it was definitely spam or some kind of scam. So glad I didnt answer!
