Got a call from some Newport firm called 'we fight any claim' about PPI. They said I’d put my work mobile number in a survey about my private banking - not true at all, I hardly ever fill those things in and never give my number. Ended up telling the guy off, said if he’s pushing me to claim again he’s basically asking me to commit fraud. What freaked me out is he knew my address, which is quite unsettling.

Got a call round 7.50pm. He was saying the name of the company he represented but I just couldn’t catch it. Told him to say it again and still nothing. Ended up blocking the number. The number felt familiar, like I’d seen it before. At least I’m not the only one getting that John Cleese voicemail on my answerphone!

A polite guy called me about claiming PPI and asked for some personal info. We had a little argument when I mentioned contacting the bank myself. He said I would've been misled otherwise. Then he thanked me and hung up. Feels like a dodgy scam.

Guy called me about some PPI claim. Told him straight up I’m not sharing any money stuff with cold callers. Asked him to prove who he was by telling me the address he had for me and he gave me a fake one I’d used before with another scammer. I received a phone call today at precisely 12:35 PM from a bloke who claimed to be verifying something about PPI claims, even though I had already submitted mine. I've been rather annoyed by some intrusive callers who seem to think it's acceptable to harass me with multiple calls throughout the day-typically three or four times! I've made it abundantly clear that if I wanted to get in touch with them, I'd simply use the number they keep ringing from. It's rather amusing, really; I've got caller ID, so I just let it go to voicemail and count how many times they try before they finally throw in the towel. Strangely enough, they never leave a message!
