Someone called saying they were from Domestic & General about my appliance cover. I already have a policy with them and everything's been fine, so I wasn’t expecting to hear from anyone. Since early Jan, specifically around the 10th, I've been getting nonstop scam calls about home appliances, mostly from places like London, Birmingham and Edinburgh. Luckily, I set up a recorded message to handle cold callers, so I don’t have to actually talk to any of them. Honestly, it’s been a lifesaver!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic and General, saying my home appliance insurance was up for renewal. But I knew my cooker’s insurance is with D and T, and that usually renews in January, so I was suspicious. I told the lady I didn’t have any appliance cover at all, but she kept going on about the manufacturer warranty having run out. I told her that probably ended ages ago, but she was adamant I’d bought it four years back, which wasn’t true. Then she asked if I’d be interested in taking out a new policy.

Johnny Gupta and his group of overseas fraudsters are at it again. They tried pulling some domestic insurance con on me - thank goodness I blocked it! Honestly, it’s easy to see why there’s a lot of resentment towards foreign people these days. I used to chuckle when my dad moaned about how the country was going downhill, but after four decades, I can see where he’s coming from. These scammers aren’t just popping up on boats from across the sea, they’re blowing up my phone as well.

I got a call from someone saying my appliance cover was about to expire in a week and asked if I wanted to renew it. Spent almost ten minutes going through all the appliances I own. Then I told them I've already got insurance through my home and contents policy with another provider. They didn't sound very happy about that and just ended the call abruptly. Not sure why they reacted like that.

Got a call from 01619610029 from some Personal Recruitment Outsourcing, but they didn’t leave any voicemail which was a bit annoying :-/ Tried ringing them back since I’ve got mates up in Manchester, and all I got was a recorded message saying it was Personal Recruitment Outsourcing that called and they’d ring back. Yeah right, that’s never happening. I’ve blocked the number now with BT’s premium call barring. We’re not a company or anything, so definitely not interested in any recruiting nonsense!
