Got a call about a washing machine warranty, and the guy seemed to know everything about my machine, even guessed its age (maybe he just got lucky?). I already pay for my machine protection by direct debit though. Nearly got caught out when he asked for my card details. I honestly felt daft! Thankfully, it clicked that it was probably a scam. Then the same number rang again about half an hour later, so I just blocked it straight away.

Got a call from Repair & Assure trying to push me into buying washing machine cover for £75 a year. They mentioned it was cheaper than last year's £106, but honestly, it feels like a total rip-off to me.

Got a call from someone selling a warranty for my washing machine. They knew my name and where I live, which was a bit creepy. I told the guy he must have the wrong address, even though he kept insisting it was right. I also mentioned I already had insurance that covers repairs and replacements. He said sorry and hung up. But then, a few hours later, the same number phoned again. Now I just ignore these calls or mess about to waste their time - don’t want them bothering anyone else.

i saw this number pop up on my mobile, not the home phone. it showed up as coming from manchester. usually i just leave calls like that ring out, so i didn’t pick up.
