A man phoned me saying he was following up on my insurance for the washing machine, then suddenly started asking about my fridge freezer. He claimed I could get a cheaper rate than what I’m already paying by Direct Debit. Funny thing is, he didn’t know my house number or even what brand my fridge freezer was! Then he tried to get me to pay using my husband’s credit card. By that point, I realised it was a scam and I didn’t give him any details. I really wish there was a way to stop these fraudsters. I’m 75 but I’m not naive about these things at all. Cheers.
