Got a call earlier today from someone asking if I was Mr... (my name) and saying my washing machine’s manufacturer warranty at (my address) had expired and needed renewing. Thing is, my washer's well over 12 years old and I’ve never bought any warranty extras, so it felt like a total fishing expedition to me - that warranty would have ended years ago! I just said “No thanks” and ended the call. Honestly, I’m quite chuffed my machine’s still running smoothly without a single repair! Just got a call from this number 01618541352, same sort of thing John mentioned. They claimed my washing machine was a Hotpoint and that the warranty had expired. I told them I haven’t owned a Hotpoint in like 20 years! Then they said maybe someone else gave them the wrong details about me or something! Proper odd call.

I received a call from someone who spoke good English, but when he mispronounced my name, I politely asked him to clarify who was on the line. He responded that he couldn’t provide any information until I shared the details he wanted. I insisted that it would only be fair for him to respect my privacy until I knew who I was speaking to. All of a sudden, he just hung up on me. Interestingly, when I picked up the call, the number was connected to a voicemail that introduced itself as Repair and Assure Ltd. It’s just another instance of a nuisance caller - honestly, the world seems infested with these unscrupulous individuals!
