Given that my washing machine is pushing more than a dozen years old and I’ve never opted for warranty extensions at the point of purchase, it was clear he was simply casting a wide net. The warranty must have lapsed a good decade ago! I pretty much told him, "Not particularly, thanks" before promptly ending the conversation. On a side note, I'm quite taken aback by how well my old machine has held up-no repairs needed thus far! Definitely seems like a scam, but I'm a bit perplexed as to what their angle could be. - Caller: 016185413527 yearsI received an identical call to what John has described earlier. When I inquired about the model of the washing machine, the person on the other end claimed it was a Hotpoint, stating that the warranty had expired. I pointed out that I haven’t owned a Hotpoint for more than two decades! The caller then had the audacity to suggest that they must have been misinformed about me!
