I got a call from what sounded like an automated voice saying I was being investigated by HMRC and had to ring a number they gave or I'd get in big trouble. If you do call back, it’s probably just some scammers trying to get your bank info and steal your money. Definitely don’t fall for it!

Got a recorded message from HMRC with a mans voice saying I owe money. It told me to press 1 to pay straight away or I’d be arrested. Since I don’t even earn enough to pay tax, I knew it had to be a scam.

He told me he was with AA Billing and asked if I was in an accident. I mentioned I was recording the call and going to report it to OFCOM, then he cut the call straight away.

Got a call on my mobile from this 0161 number, looked like a total scam. When I asked why they were calling, they kept switching the topic. Then they tried to talk about my finances, which felt really dodgy. I told them what they’re doing is illegal and they can’t just cold call me like that. Hung up straight away and reported the number from my phone.

I received a call from this number at 9:41 AM on the 12th of April, 2017. Not recognising it, I chose not to pick up. However, a voicemail was left via 1571, claiming that HMRC was initiating legal action against me, instructing me to press '1' for further assistance. Feeling dubious, I decided to check the 1571 message but had reservations, so I refrained from pressing '1'. Upon searching the number online, I discovered a multitude of others had encountered the same dubious call, clearly indicating it was a scam.
