Had a couple of calls from Manchester this morning, both from numbers starting with 0161. I don't know anyone from there so didnt bother picking up. The first one seemed dodgy so I blocked it straight away. Now this other one rang, I just blocked that too. Pretty sure it's just some scam or spam calls. Definitely not answering again!

I got a call from 01618500009 saying they were from 02. They said it was about a SIM card replacement after I supposedly filled out an online survey. It sounded dodgy, so I ended up ringing the actual 02 customer service. They told me they hadn’t received any such request from me and told me to just block the number. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2, quizzing me about whether I’d been checking out SIM offers and if I’m tied into a contract with them. I told the bloke that if he’s really from O2, he should already know my contract status, and then I just ended the call and blocked the number. These scam calls are getting way too common now, honestly they should all just piss off.

I kept ignoring calls till one day I finally picked up and it was someone from 02 trying to push me a sim-only offer that supposedly beats my current plan. Honestly, I’m on unlimited calls, texts and data already, so I can’t see how it’s any better. Didn’t fancy hanging about as the caller wasn’t having a no for an answer. Won’t be picking up their calls again.

Someone rang me pretending to be from O2, saying I was eligible for an upgrade. I told them my contract was still pretty recent, so it didn’t make sense. Then they got all complicated, asking about the SIM cards in my two phones and kept pestering me for the SIM numbers. Even after I said I’d just call O2 on their official number to check, they wouldn’t back off. Pretty clear it was a scam. To their credit, when I finally told them where to shove it, they just said, “Alright then, have a nice day” and hung up.

Also got another message supposedly from O2 with a code for my account that I never asked for. I’ve spoken to O2 and they said loads of people are getting these dodgy calls and messages lately.

I got a call from someone named Clair Wilson offering to upgrade my O2 contract. I decided to ask if she was interested in filing a PPI claim since my info showed she might have some PPI owed. She didn’t really seem bothered about it, even though she could possibley get back thousands. She just wanted to chat about the O2 deal, so I ended the call.
