Got a call from 01618265945 earlier today, some Asian or Indian guy tried saying my name, then started rambling about something I couldn’t really get. I was already on another call so I told him the cops were on the line, then he just hung up. Haven’t heard a thing from them since tonight.

WARNING ABOUT PHISHING! The police (NFIB) have made it super simple for anyone to report scam texts, calls, emails, and other fraud attempts. After I raised the huge number of scammy calls with my MP, they actually told me to use this system. It’s shocking how scammers want to keep this quiet. If you’re not officially reporting these fraud attempts, don’t expect them to stop. Messaging 7726, your phone provider, Ofcom, or the companies scammers claim to be helps a bit, but these reports usually don’t reach the police for a proper criminal probe.

Got a call from someone saying it was a survey, but the person had a really thick Indian accent and there was loads of noise in the background, made it hard to hear. They wanted me to verify my name, postcode and house number first, then they started asking questions about my age range, what I buy and if I own or rent my place. Felt a bit odd, not sure what it was really about.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called claiming he worked for one of those new UK 'Habits companies' and wanted to chat about my habits. I told him straight up I knew it was a scam, and he cut me off before I could even finish talking! What really freaked me out is that he had not just my number but also my full name and address, supposedly from publicly available sources. I’m pretty cautious about sharing my details and don’t do surveys, so this felt really dodgy.

The person had a strong Indian accent, I think. It was probably an internet call since the voice was all choppy, like a bad Skype connection. They said they were from some housing survey group. When I asked what the call was about, they told me I was the nicest person they'd talked to all day, which was a bit odd.

I’d honestly just ignore any calls from unknown numbers. This is the second time they rang me today.

Not totally certain, but sounds like a foreign number. Despite being blocked, it’s called me a couple of times. When I picked up, the person said something like “you’re the first who’s been polite to me.” Then I just hung up straight away!

Got a call asking for someone else, I said that wasn’t me and they just cut off straight away. Then, about two minutes later, another bloke with an Indian accent rings, asking for the same person. I told him again it wasn’t me, but he ignored it and started chatting about how my day was going. I had to repeat that wasn’t who he wanted, and he hung up on me right after. Blocked the number now.
