Got quite a few scam numbers blocked these days!5 years“Hello, it’s <insert silly name here, like Mike Hunt, Phil McGroin, or some such> calling from Currys, formerly known as Carphone Warehouse, about your O2 phone contract that’s nearly up, just checking what offers might suit you.” Or something along those lines. O2 actually played it clever though ;-). Shortly after Currys took over Carphone Warehouse, and not even a year into my two-year contract, O2 rang me up directly saying if I renewed with them, I could get an upgrade straight away. Fair play, Currys (used to be Carphone Warehouse). Though honestly, I’m not really sorry - last time I dealt with Carphone Warehouse they were absolutely hopeless. Plus, when I last went to a Currys shop, none of the staff were at the checkout, they were just milling about and totally ignoring the growing queue.
