They claimed if I renewed now, they’d throw in another year's cover for free along with the new policy. When I asked who they were, they said some firm called CHK in Liverpool. I told them I had no clue who CHK was and that I don’t have any insurance with them. The bloke replied, "How can you forget you’re with us?" They insisted it wasn’t a random call, but to me, it sounded like they knew I wasn’t a customer and were just trying to trick me into signing for a two-year deal at the price of one, which they made sound like a bargain. I kept grilling him because I was sure it was just a cold call, and eventually, he just hung up. I pressed them a bit more, clearly realising it was a cold call, and then they just hung up on me. Later, I checked the number on l471, which showed a different number starting with 0161 820 0814 - not a Liverpool area code at all.
