Today, I got a call from this number about my white goods insurance, which they said had run out. They claimed if I renewed now, they’d throw in another year's cover for free along with the new policy. When I asked who they were, they said some firm called CHK in Liverpool. I told them I had no clue who CHK was and that I don’t have any insurance with them. The bloke replied, "How can you forget you’re with us?" They insisted it wasn’t a random call, but to me, it sounded like they knew I wasn’t a customer and were just trying to trick me into signing for a two-year deal at the price of one, which they made sound like a bargain. I kept grilling him because I was sure it was just a cold call, and eventually, he just hung up. Later on, I looked up l471 and it showed the number as 0161 820 0814 - not Liverpool at all - so I searched online and found warnings about them here.

So I got a call today from this number about my white goods insurance which they said had recently ended. They claimed if I signed up again now, I’d get an extra year free on top of the new cover. When I asked who was calling, the person said it was CHK from Liverpool. I told them I’d never heard of CHK and don't even have insurance with them. The guy actually said, “How do you forget you have a policy with us?” They kept insisting it wasn’t a cold call, but it sounded more like they knew I hadn’t signed up and were just hoping I’d believe otherwise and go for their “2 years for the price of 1” deal, which sounded dodgy to me. I pressed them a bit more, clearly realising it was a cold call, and then they just hung up on me. Later, I checked the number on l471, which showed a different number starting with 0161 820 0814 - not a Liverpool area code at all. I then googled it and found loads of warnings about this number here.

As soon as I picked up, they just cut the call off.

Just like others have said, the guy sounded way too smooth, trying to trick me into handing over my card info. My card had expired after I last paid for the insurance on some home appliances. He also didn’t even get the right item insured right. I ended the call pretty quickly.

Somebody rang up saying they needed to check my info to give me a better offer on my home appliance insurance which I’ve had since 2013. I asked for the policy number and the person said they couldn’t see my insurance info, only my personal stuff. Seemed fishy to me. I reckon they wanted my bank details but they ended the call quickly. Total scam in my book.

Got a call from this number today. It was a woman with a bit of an accent, talking about renewing my appliance insurance. She claimed they could lower my premiums and even offered a free year until September 2021, but said I had to verify my bank card info right away. I told her loads of times that I never share that kind of info on the phone and asked her to send the details by post instead. She just kept pushing, saying it had to be done immediately. I ended up hanging up and blocking the number. Already got my renewal from my actual insurer, so this seems like a dodgy scam to me!
