7 yearsAs soon as I picked up the phone, they just cut off the line.7 yearsI’d like to echo what others have said: the chap on the line had overly smooth talk, clearly aiming to pressure me into providing my card information, particularly since my card had expired following the last payment for my insurance on white goods. Moreover, he couldn’t even get the specifics of what was insured right! I decided it was best to end the call there.7 yearsI received a call from someone claiming they were keen to verify my information in order to give me a more advantageous rate on my white goods insurance - a policy I've held since 2013. When I requested my policy number for verification purposes, she responded that she could only access my personal information, but not the specifics of my insurance policy. This raised immediate red flags for me; it felt like a clear attempt at a scam. I can't shake the feeling they were fishing for my banking info, but just as quickly as they rang, they hung up on me. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!7 yearsReceived a rather suspicious call today from a lady who had a slight accent that sounded foreign. She was on about my appliance insurance renewal and was offering an enticing deal to lower my premiums, claiming I could get an entire year free, valid until September 2021. However, she insisted I needed to verify my card details to proceed. I made it quite clear that I don’t disclose any personal information like that over the phone and that I preferred the information to be sent in writing. Despite my repeated refusals, she kept pushing for me to confirm the details then and there. I decided it was best to cut the call short and subsequently blocked the number. I already have my renewal paperwork from my insurer anyway! Definitely feels like another scam attempt!Submit Your Own Report (0161 820 0814)
