Somebody pretending to be from Nationwide’s fraud department called my elderly mate, convincing them to go to their bank and move funds. It turned out to be a scam, no doubt about it. We’ve since reported the number both to the genuine Nationwide fraud team and the police for them to look into.

Got a call from someone pretending to be "Robert Reid" with an Asian accent, saying he worked for RBS fraud prevention. The number they used was 0141 582 4041, then switched to 0125 367 0897. He tried to convince me to check out a sketchy website, but I told him no way and that I’d rather go to my local branch. He even said my branch was involved in the scam! I quickly shut the call down. Definitely a dodgy fraud attempt.
