I didn't pick up when the phone rang earlier, but later got this automated message from a guy called Dennis claiming to be from "Chain Revenue & Customs". He said their division's number is 01618187293 and warned me not to ignore the message. Something about contacting them or my solicitor or else there'd be trouble. When I tried ringing back, the call just seemed to drop straight away. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got another call today with some recorded lady named Dennis going on - don’t really know the scam behind it but considering it’s January, could be a ploy to trick people into giving away their tax account or bank info. Just ignore it and don’t ring back. If you’re anxious, just look up the official HMRC contact and ring them straight away.

Got a call the other day from "Customs and Excise" or so they said. Didn’t pick up but the voicemail left was pretty intimidating, a robot lady voice claiming to be someone named Dennis. From my experience with Customs, they normally contact you by letter or if it's serious, they send officers personally; this felt way off.
