Initially, they claimed I was entitled to a refund of PPI, first stating it was £1,700, then jumping to £4,000 to £5,000, and finally settling on £1,534. What's more, they insisted that without life insurance, I wouldn't be eligible for any payout. They requested my policy number and my bank details as well. I was completely taken in, especially since they had so much personal information about me-made me believe there was some money waiting for me. They even mentioned a specific date for when to expect the PPI refund. Eventually, I cottoned on to the fact that it was all a ruse, a blatant scam aimed at getting my cash. If anyone receives a call from this number, I'd advise staying vigilant; it’s nothing more than a sham looking to fleece you out of your hard-earned money.

Had pretty much the same thing happen. The bloke rang my mobile, and as soon as I answered with 'Hello', he just said 'Goodbye' and hung up. Tried calling back from my work landline but no answer, no ring. So I’ve blocked the number now. I’m pretty sure I know who it is. Seems like he switches phones a lot since I keep blocking him every time he pops up. He’s also pretended to be from different companies, mostly about insurance or benefits stuff.

Got a call from an Indian bloke pushing life insurance. At first, the line was dead silent before he finally spoke. When I asked where he got my number, he just said something like “what a shame” and hung up. Bit disappointing, I wanted to keep him chatting for ages just to annoy him a bit.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called me claiming he was from the UK Benefits Department. He said due to some new government rule they were contacting folks who hadn’t checked their life insurance policies for six months. I received a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with Aviva insurance. He assured me he could offer a much more competitive rate than my existing policy. After a brief chat, he transferred me to a so-called verifier who affirmed all the information he had provided was accurate. At that point, they requested my bank details to initiate a standing order. That’s when I decided to end the conversation abruptly.

This caller had a strong Indian accent and wouldn’t stop calling back. They said something really rude that I won’t mention here. I’ve blocked the number now - definitely seems like a scammer.

Got a warning on my phone saying it was likely spam, so I didnt pick up, just let it ring out. Now Ive blocked the number and shared it on Facebook. Hopefully this way the caller notices their number is exposed and stops bothering others.

Some bloke from India called my husband. He told him to buzz off cos we don’t deal with cold calls. Husband just hung up. Then he rang right back and I answered. He said he was recording the call, so I told him again we don’t take cold calls. He asked if I even knew what cold calling meant, then started going on about life insurance and benefits stuff. I told him I’m in finance and those two don’t mix, plus he’s harassing us and I’ll be reporting it to the police. That was that. But he’s still calling 6 times from this number and 3 other mobiles.
