I got calls from 01618186047 yesterday and then today too. They claim to have blocked 136 calls last month but couldn't say when I’d reported the calls I got. I use a call blocker, so thought it was strange. The caller knew my name, address, phone number and even some card info. First they asked for the card expiry date and if I was happy with the service because apparently I owed a payment. That was a red flag straight away since my plan doesn’t bill me every ten months. Made me think maybe my provider’s system has been compromised or something.

I've had a rather unfortunate encounter with these chaps running a scam. After signing up and parting with my cash for a year’s worth of service, I noticed they'd cheekily nabbed the same amount again just six months down the line. Thankfully, my credit card provider came to the rescue and sorted out a refund for that unwarranted second charge. To top it off, they rang me this morning. Before, they went by the name Call Prevention Service. Don’t get taken in - make sure you notify the genuine Telephone Preference Service by ringing 0345 070 0707.

I received a phone call from a chap claiming to represent Call Bloc. He seemed quite convincing and inquired whether my debit card information was accurate since I had misplaced my card a few months back. I mentioned I was expecting a replacement. He was very courteous-easily someone might fall for this if they weren't cautious. He had certain details about me, which made it all the more believable.

Received a rather dodgy call from this number, trying to persuade me to fork out £49.99 for a service that you can actually obtain for nothing by signing up to the Telephone Preference Service. When I politely declined, the bloke on the other end was quite brusque and just hung up without a word. Really quite immature and lacking in professionalism. I received a rather peculiar phone call from a gentleman claiming I had expressed interest in some sort of call blocking service. He went on about how my number seemed to be a hot topic in India, which struck me as odd. Just when I thought it couldn't get more bizarre, he requested a fee of £49.99. That’s when the alarm bells rang, and I firmly declined. Without so much as a goodbye, he abruptly hung up. Quite the shady encounter, wouldn’t you agree? It has scam written all over it!

They kept insisting I owed £49.00, telling me I was apparently listed on 200 databases in India and another 200 over here in the UK. Sounded like a total con to me. They wanted payment straight away and wouldn’t take no for an answer, even when I told them I don’t get paid till next week. Definitely dodgy, best to steer clear!

I got a call from a guy named Peter who claimed I had to pay £9.75 each month just to screen my calls! I was sure I signed up for the free TPS service, which is supposed to cost nothing. He even knew I’d attempted to register, including the exact time! Then he said I couldn't stop the service unless I paid the initial £9.75 fee! I told him I'd ring back after looking into it, and then I found out this number is linked to loads of scams! Definitely reporting this.

Proper cheeky! Someone rang me saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service and asked for £49.99 to take me off some annoying calls list. When I said I wasn’t interested in paying, they started moaning about wasting their time and cash before just slamming the phone down. Bit of a dodgy move if you ask me!

Just got a call from some bloke claiming to be from call blocking checking if I was satisfied with their service. I forked out nearly £50 a couple of years back because they said I was listed on hundreds of foreign companies' databases. For a bit, the calls eased off but now I’m getting loads again from people with foreign accents. I told him I was still getting annoyed by the calls and wasn’t happy at all. Then, he just hung up on me - pretty cheeky, if you ask me.

I signed up for preferential calls too. Like a few others mentioned, a guy with a Welsh accent told me I was on loads of lists, mostly from India. Then he asked for £49.99. When I said I'd get back to him, he just cut the call. Just a heads up, watch out for this.

I've already signed up for the TPS. Shortly after a dodgy call, I got a man with a Welsh accent on the phone saying loads of companies had been using my number despite being on the list, and I had to pay £49.99 for extra protection. I told him that TPS was meant to be free. He muttered, "Looks like you don't want to pay," and just cut off. But seriously, how did he find out I was on TPS, and where did he get my email from?

Avoid this number at all costs, it’s a total scam. I fell for it at first and ended up paying for something dodgy, but thankfully I managed to get a refund in the end. They ignore all calls and emails, so good luck trying to get hold of them directly. The fraud team at my bank sorted everything out for me. Definitely mark this one as suspicious and don’t trust it!

Right from the outset, it was clear they were being somewhat deceptive, and my nuisance calls have continued unabated. I was initially told that the one-off fee of £49.99 would cover everything, so you can imagine my surprise when they rang back demanding that I renew my subscription and provide my account details. It all turned quite unpleasant when I declined to comply; the caller threatened to remove my name from their so-called protection list. Absolutely outrageous!

I received a call today from someone claiming to represent a call-blocking service. In the past, I had signed up with a similar company, which I’ve come to suspect might have been a bit of a con. When this new caller asserted they were from a legitimate nuisance call agency and asked for an update, I genuinely thought it was the real deal. I mentioned that I was still inundated with nuisance calls and that my attempts to report them had fallen flat.
