I got calls from 01618186047 yesterday and then today too. They claim to have blocked 136 calls last month but couldn't say when I’d reported the calls I got. I use a call blocker, so thought it was strange. The caller knew my name, address, phone number and even some card info. First they asked for the card expiry date and if I was happy with the service because apparently I owed a payment. That was a red flag straight away since my plan doesn’t bill me every ten months. Made me think maybe my provider’s system has been compromised or something.

I got caught out by these fraudsters and ended up paying for a whole year. Then, out of nowhere, they charged me the exact same fee again after six months. Luckily, my bank managed to get that second payment back for me. They gave me a ring this morning, but as soon as I called them out on their scam, they just ended the call. 0161 818 6047 These lot are pure con artists. They pretend to be the Telephone Preference Service and then ask you for cash to stop calls coming through. The actual TPS doesn’t charge a penny. Before, they went by the name Call Prevention Service. Don’t get taken in - make sure you notify the genuine Telephone Preference Service by ringing 0345 070 0707.

They claim to be from the Telephone Preference Service but then try to charge you for stopping calls, which is rubbish because the real TPS doesn't cost a penny. I heard they used to go by the name Call Prevention Service before switching it up. Don't fall for their tricks - make sure you report them to the genuine TPS at 0345 070 0707.

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be from "call block" or something like that. He asked if the debit card info I had was still right, which was a bit suspicious since I lost my card ages ago and told him I was just waiting on a replacement. He was proper polite and seemed legit at first, so I can see how someone might fall for it if they weren’t suspicious. Weirdly, he knew a few bits about me too.

Got a call from this number 01618186047, guy tried to charge me £49.99 to block spam calls, said it was some special service. Told him I already use the TPS which is free, and he just got rude then hung up on me. Honestly, very unprofessional and quite immature behaviour. Wouldn’t recommend at all, dodgy scam in my opinion.

I got a phone call from a bloke claiming I had asked about call blocking. He said my number was really popular in India and then wanted me to pay £49.99. That’s when I got suspicious and told him no. Then he just hung up without even saying goodbye. Pretty sure it was a scam.

They kept insisting I owed £49.00, telling me I was apparently listed on 200 databases in India and another 200 over here in the UK. Sounded like a total con to me. They wanted payment straight away and wouldn’t take no for an answer, even when I told them I don’t get paid till next week. Definitely dodgy, best to steer clear!

I got a call from a guy named Peter who claimed I had to pay £9.75 each month just to screen my calls! I was sure I signed up for the free TPS service, which is supposed to cost nothing. He even knew I’d attempted to register, including the exact time! Then he said I couldn't stop the service unless I paid the initial £9.75 fee! I told him I'd ring back after looking into it, and then I found out this number is linked to loads of scams! Definitely reporting this.

Got a call from them earlier claiming they could stop unwanted calls for £9.99 each month. When I said no and didn’t want to share my card info, they just hung up on me. Definitely sounds like a scam!

Proper cheeky! Someone rang me saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service and asked for £49.99 to take me off some annoying calls list. When I said I wasn’t interested in paying, they started moaning about wasting their time and cash before just slamming the phone down. Bit of a dodgy move if you ask me!

Just got a call from some bloke claiming to be from call blocking checking if I was satisfied with their service. I forked out nearly £50 a couple of years back because they said I was listed on hundreds of foreign companies' databases. For a bit, the calls eased off but now I’m getting loads again from people with foreign accents. I told him I was still getting annoyed by the calls and wasn’t happy at all. Then, he just hung up on me - pretty cheeky, if you ask me.

I signed up for preferential calls too. Like a few others mentioned, a guy with a Welsh accent told me I was on loads of lists, mostly from India. Then he asked for £49.99. When I said I'd get back to him, he just cut the call. Just a heads up, watch out for this.

I was called by some bloke claiming to be helpful from Wales. Normally I wouldn’t have picked up but was waiting on a different ring. Paid up before I caught on it was dodgy, then had to get my bank to cut off my card and blocked the caller.

I've already signed up for the TPS. Shortly after a dodgy call, I got a man with a Welsh accent on the phone saying loads of companies had been using my number despite being on the list, and I had to pay £49.99 for extra protection. I told him that TPS was meant to be free. He muttered, "Looks like you don't want to pay," and just cut off. But seriously, how did he find out I was on TPS, and where did he get my email from?

Avoid this number at all costs, it’s a total scam. I fell for it at first and ended up paying for something dodgy, but thankfully I managed to get a refund in the end. They ignore all calls and emails, so good luck trying to get hold of them directly. The fraud team at my bank sorted everything out for me. Definitely mark this one as suspicious and don’t trust it!

I got a call from someone saying they’d looked into my PPI claim and I was owed £1900 back. Thing is, that wasn’t true at all since I’ve already sorted my claim out and it definitely wasn’t through some suspicious cold caller like that.

A couple of days ago I received a call from this so-called call blocking firm. Right from when I got connected, they were quite dodgy and the annoying calls just kept coming. They told me upfront that the 49.99 payment was a one-off, so imagine my surprise when they called back saying I needed to renew and hand over my bank details. When I said no, the person on the phone got really rude and threatened to take my name off their protection list. Proper shady behaviour if you ask me.

Got a call today from someone saying they were with a call-blocking service. I had signed up with a call blocker before, though now I’m starting to suspect that might have been a con too. Because this caller said they were from an official nuisance call organisation and wanted to check if I needed help, I believed them. I mentioned I was still getting loads of unwanted calls and had reported them but nothing happened. The bloke said he’d take a look into it but I haven’t heard anything since.
