Some woman was ringing about pensions, best thing is just to ignore or make up a fake name for a bit of a laugh.

A woman phoned me, using my name and confirming my address, which they already had. She asked if I’d received my annual pension letters and I said yes. Then mentioned something about recommendations before hanging up and never calling again. Really curious how they got my name and address? I’ve had loads of calls from that number, mostly I ignore or pick up and stay silent, they usually hang up pretty quickly. [email protected]@holes

The caller claimed to be from Profile Financial Solutions, which appears to be a proper company, but I reckon they've handed the calls over to another firm. He kept saying this was the only number they ring from, but I’ve had about 5 calls, all with Manchester area codes but with slightly different endings. That's why no matter how many numbers I block, they manage to get through. The caller mentioned that the calls are recorded, so I told them if I get another call, I’d report them to the ICO and the data protection folks for harassment and misuse of my info.

SCAMMERS - This bloke works for some Pension Review lot. He’s been ringing me from 07946508776 and somehow managed to get all my personal info, like my full name, birthday, number and even my home address! Unbelievable! I keep telling him I’m not up for a pension review, but he won’t stop ringing! Had over 30 calls in the last three months. Just yesterday, he left me 5 missed calls! Blimey, these callers are truly a right pain in the neck! I mean, it's reached a point where if I've got a couple of minutes to kill, I let them prattle on for a bit, just to give them a taste of their own medicine. I usually tell them they're *squandering precious oxygen that someone else might need to breathe in peace* before hanging up and adding them to the block list. Honestly, I've ended up blocking more of these nuisances than I have actual mates in my contact list!

i’d recommend trying out the mr number app, ive heard it’s pretty good and even the daily mail gave it a thumbs up. its free and you can block any calls from numbers not saved in your contacts, but it still shows you who called just in case its not spam. ive been getting calls from this one number loads but when i answer no one is there.

Quite peculiar, really!
