Got a call on my phone from a bloke claiming to be from the pensions agency - his voice sounded off, really weird. He asked if I’m still getting those frozen pension statements sent to my house, even gave my exact address. When I said I don’t have a frozen pension, he just cut off straight away. I’m just hanging on for their next call so I can be all awkward and slow, pretending I don’t understand a thing & ask for their name, manager’s name, company details, registration number, address, and how to spell everything - keep going over it until they get fed up. Got a call earlier today asking about my pension contributions and they tried saying my name but messed it up. When I asked if they meant to talk to me and gave them the right name, the guy just ended the call. This was on 4th Jan 2016. Watch out everyone, they claimed to be from the dept of D.W pensions but I’m not even a pensioner yet, so it’s def not the DWP we all know, that’s for sure.

Someone called asking specifically for me and said it was Gavin about my frozen pension review. I asked what pension review and he just ended the call! I called the number back and some strange American voice said my call was important then played awful music. I just hung up, definitely a scam!

Looks like they're only after your pension money - if you dont have one, they'll probably try to forward your info to another company. My advice is to avoid these lot altogether. Also, if you see a call from a 0161 number, just let it ring out. No worries, they usually dont bother leaving a voicemail.

The number’s linked to a national advice service, but if you look it up, there’s a BBC article about them being slapped with hefty fines. I seriously doubt these lot have any honesty at all.

I got a call like this too, some bloke said he was from the Pensions Advice Service about a frozen pension account. They asked loads of questions about pension letters but when I didn’t give them the info they wanted, they just ended the call. Felt really dodgy since they pretended to be a government agency. Someone rang, said they were from the Pensions Advice Service, wanting to discuss my frozen pension. I've been with the same company my whole career, so that sounded dodgy to me. When I asked a few questions, the call just dropped. The number showed a Manchester area code and the woman’s accent was local, which made it even more suspicious.
