Then the other day, they called my mobile and started asking me to confirm my name and address. They even wanted me to say my date of birth out loud, claiming it was for the bank to let a payment go through. Sounded really suspicious to me. The caller had an English accent too, which made it feel even more dodgy!9 yearsMy landline kept getting calls from this number, always a recorded message. Then they called my mobile the other day and tried to make me confirm my name and address. They even wanted me to record myself saying my birthday, claiming it was needed for the bank before allowing any payments. Sounded really fishy to me! The person spoke with an English accent too.9 yearsI recently had a rather unsettling phone call from this number. The chap on the other end spun a tale about a refund of £2,500 owed to me. To my alarm, he had my name, residential address, and my business mobile number. I asked him for his contact details so I could return the call at a more convenient time. He claimed to be from the Payment Protection Insurance Team, located on Marsden Road in Manchester, and introduced himself as Duran Russell. By the end of the conversation, his patience seemed to be wearing thin, and he snapped, "well, do what you want then...".
