I kept getting calls on my landline from this number, but when I answered, it was just a recorded message. Then the other day, they called my mobile and started asking me to confirm my name and address. They even wanted me to say my date of birth out loud, claiming it was for the bank to let a payment go through. Sounded really suspicious to me. The caller had an English accent too, which made it feel even more dodgy!

My landline kept getting calls from this number, always a recorded message. Then they called my mobile the other day and tried to make me confirm my name and address. They even wanted me to record myself saying my birthday, claiming it was needed for the bank before allowing any payments. Sounded really fishy to me! The person spoke with an English accent too.

So, this number rang me earlier today with a tale about me supposedly getting £2,500 back as a refund. The bloke already had my full name, my home address, and even the mobile number I use for work. When I asked for his info to ring him back later, he told me he was with the Payment Protection Insurance Team on Marsden Road, Manchester. Said his name was Duran Russell. By the end of it, he sounded annoyed and just said, “Fine, do what you want...” Honestly, I wish there was a way to put a stop to calls like this.

I picked up my mobile when it rang but no one said anything on the other end.

They’ve rung me a few times over the past week, always asking for my missus. When I try to find out what's going on, they just end the call. Had to block the number in the end.
