I got loads of calls from this number saying I needed to confirm a PPI refund by clicking a link they sent via text. When I asked if they could send the details in the post instead, they said that’s not how it works and wanted me to go on speakerphone to prove I’d clicked the link. I said no way was I clicking any links, and right away they accused me of thinking they were trying to scam me, even though I never said that. I told them to stop calling because I’m not clicking anything. Despite that, they’ve rung me three more times in just a few minutes. I’ve blocked some of their numbers before but they keep switching them, all coming from Manchester, which makes it really annoying.

There was a bit of quiet followed by some weird music, then a friendly woman said I was owed a tax refund for a PPI claim I never made. I told her I’d never claimed anything like that, and asked if she was aware my number was on the TPS list. She acted like she’d never heard of it. The call finished pretty quickly after that.

I got a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent about something to do with a PPI claim. I couldn't catch what she said properly, so I asked her to say it again. Then she switched and mentioned a tax refund. I told her to send me details in writing instead. She got a bit annoyed, but when I said I don't talk about money stuff over the phone, she just ended the call. Seemed pretty dodgy to me, definitely a scam.
