Somebody called me claiming to be from HMRC, giving me a case number and saying I owed £1500 on my self assessment. They threatened legal action if I didn’t pay straight away over the phone. It was all a bit much! I told them they had the wrong info because I’m an employee, not self-employed, and then they just hung up. So fishy!
