Following up on my message from yesterday about a call I missed from 0161 738 1258, they phoned again today. The caller was a woman with a quite thick accent I found hard to catch. I had to ask her to repeat what she said a few times. She said she was from Dark Money, doing a survey about recent price hikes and how people are coping with the cost of living. When she asked if I’d take part, I said no thanks. Feels like a scam to me. I couldn’t find any info about this "Dark Money" firm on Google or Yahoo either.

I picked up the phone and the caller hung up straight away.

I picked up the call, expecting a conversation, but all I got was dead air before they hung up on me.

I received a rather peculiar MESSAGE, and I quote:

"You've missed a call from me at 14:32 on 30th March. This is a complimentary Call Alert from O2. To deactivate this, simply dial 901, hit *, then select option 4 followed by option 5."

Lo and behold, I’ve had the very same "MESSAGE"-not an actual "missed call" as claimed-from three entirely different numbers. The one referenced above is from a Manchester location (I still need to investigate the others).

I strongly advise just to ignore or delete any such messages altogether, and for goodness' sake, DO NOT follow the given steps.
