They claimed to be from BT, saying they’d put an end to all the annoying spam calls. Then they asked me to confirm my name and address, so I just ended the call right there.

Got a really bad scripted call from someone in India saying my call blocking wasn’t effective. They didn't even realise I’m with TalkTalk, which is odd, but somehow they had my full name. Makes me think my number and details are either leaked online or they’re working off some dodgy list. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Got calls from someone saying they’re from BT, saying I owe £150 and demanding my bank or card details. They keep threatening to cut off my phone line if I don’t pay up. Problem is, my line isn’t with BT at all and I have no idea what this is about. They just won’t accept a refusal and keep ringing. Need to block this number asap.

Had two dodgy calls today from someone saying they were BT, trying to set me up with some nuisance call blocker thing. I told them I wasn't with BT and hung up straight away. Nope, a couple of mins later the phone goes again. This time they gave a name and even got my address right. Then they tried to get me to confirm the expiry date on an old credit card they supposedly had. Total scam!

My mum got called by some scammer.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the Telephone Preference Service. They told me I wouldn't get any scam calls starting tomorrow. Then they started asking loads of questions. Somehow they already had my name, address and postcode. After that, they asked me to check my debit card because apparently it had expired back in 2018. That’s when I decided to just hang up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Sky TV, asking me to verify my bank details. Of course, I didn't give anything away. Cheers for the heads-up, now I can rest easy knowing my Sky subscription won't get cut off!

Got a call about some supposed payout from a card I supposedly had ages back. Total rubbish though, I was way too young to even own a card at that time.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Oracle Legal, something about helping with finances and PPI claims. When I asked where they’d found my number, the person got rude and started making fun of how I speak English and nitpicking my words. Honestly, that’s not how you should try to make a sale. They clearly don’t care about GDPR - asking for private details and being downright impolite. Stay well clear of these lot!
