This number has been ringing me non stop and I've told them loads of times to take me off their list. Eventually I got fed up and asked for a manager, but he just shouted at me down the phone and wouldn't let me say anything. Kept banging on about some money I supposedly owe. Asked again and again to get my number removed and then he just cut me off.

Rang 0845 862 1862 Voicehost. They admitted 01617110900 is one of their lines used for these dodgy cold calls. 1/6/17 Sadly, Ofcom can’t really do much because the companies are designed to collapse rather than cough up the huge fines. The people running this scam really should be locked up.

I've checked out who runs this number series. I called them and found out it's being used by a call centre that makes cold calls. The provider is VoiceHost. Their company name is VoiceHost Ltd, located at St. Francis House, Queens Road, Norwich NR1 3PN. You can reach them on 0845 862 1862 or fax at 0845 862 3862. Their website is something like voicehost dot com. The numbers fall under their allocated codes.

Today, our home phone rang and my wife picked up. The woman on the other end asked for me, using my first name. When my wife questioned who she was and why she was calling - wondering if it was about some accident like the usual daily calls - the woman suddenly said she’d been having an affair with me! My wife then asked why someone from a call centre was making such claims. The caller quickly denied being from a call centre, clearly lying. It’s shocking behaviour and could seriously mess up relationships for people.
