8 yearsI had a rather peculiar phone call earlier today from someone with a thick accent who claimed to be from BT. This individual went on about how my IP address was being targeted by overseas operatives and that they’d be disconnecting my broadband imminently for “urgent” checks. Honestly, what a load of nonsense! He insisted that I hop on my computer to demonstrate something, despite me clearly using an iPad. As if! I’m not falling for that trick. When I pressed him for his name, he introduced himself as Kevin Williams and provided the number 02073565000, suggesting I should have a mate ring him back. Quite dodgy, if you ask me. Totally unnerving, to say the least. Naturally, I took a moment to look up that 0207 number, and surprise surprise, it’s indeed a scam.
