I picked up this number and heard what seemed like a robotic message from a woman speaking in an Indian accent, warning that my BT broadband was facing an issue with something called hive and might get cut off. Then the call just ended. Since the number appeared local, I tried calling it back later, but the line said no such number. This happened on 4th September 2019 around 2:10 pm.

We've been pestered by this number repeatedly. Each time it’s some chap with an Indian accent claiming that our computer has supposedly sent a distress signal about a problem and insisting that we switch it on for them to sort it out. After countless interruptions, my husband resorted to blowing a piercing whistle, which miraculously silenced the phone for a bit. However, it's been around six months, and wouldn't you know it, the calls have resumed! Something really ought to be done to curb these annoying disturbances.

Got two calls from this number today. A woman with a foreign accent asked how I was and said she was from BT Openreach. Tried to trick me into giving access to my computer - definitely a scam.

Received a call from this number earlier today. When I answered, there was complete silence from their side. After a while, I got through to a woman with a thick Indian accent claiming she was with BT Openreach. I told her the line was rubbish, then she started swearing and abruptly ended the call. Sounds fishy to me, just like the others have said. Definitely not picking up if this number rings again.

Received a call from this number earlier, and it was rather odd. When I answered, there was nothing but silence on the other side. Then, suddenly, I heard an Indian woman with quite a thick accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. As I mentioned that the line was terrible, she reacted quite poorly, swearing at me before abruptly ending the call. I share the sentiments of others who’ve commented here and believe this could very well be a scam. I certainly won’t be picking up if they ring again!

I answered this number since it looked like it came from nearby. It was a woman with an Asian accent calling herself Karen, claiming she worked for BT Openreach. She said they’d been notified that my internet speed was dropping. She asked, "What devices are hooked up to your internet right now?" I said just my iPad and told her she wasn’t actually with BT Openreach and to stop calling me. I didn’t mention that our provider isn’t even BT.

I received a call from a woman who identified herself as being employed by BT Open Reach. She insisted that I should switch on my computer because there was supposedly an issue with it.

Got a call from an unfamiliar number but they left no message. Tried calling back but the number just wouldn’t connect. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I’ve blocked it now.

Got a call from some Indian bloke saying my supplier, BT Openreach, was about to cut the cable. Totally not from BT Openreach though, dodgy if you ask me!

This number has rung me up twice, claiming they’ve received ‘alerts from your router’. When I asked how they got that info, they just stuck to their scripted lines. Odd, considering I stopped using BT over two years ago! After I mentioned that, the caller just hung up - if it was really BT Openreach, I’d expect some kind of apology. Feels like someone’s breached BT’s records. Just another reason I’m glad I switched providers, as if I needed any more!

I got two calls but when I answered there was no one there, just some recorded voice saying goodbye! Honestly, BT really need to sort this out because these calls are clearly coming from India but using a Manchester number to trick us. We're protected by the new nuisance caller rules, yet nothing seems to stop these BT fakes from constantly bothering us😡😡😡😡😡

I received a call with no message left, and when I tried to call back, the number doesn't seem valid. I can only guess it's yet another dodgy call regarding my imaginary broadband issues!

I almost ended up sharing my computer with these people, but thankfully I hesitated right before doing it. That’s when it clicked for me that letting a stranger access my PC was a bad idea. So I just told them no thanks, I’m not comfortable with that.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Openreach. Didn't take too kindly to that, told him straight up he was full of it and to get lost. He hung up pretty sharpish after that!

Got a call from some Indian lady about an internet issue. I told her I’d reach out to my provider myself and said she should scam someone else instead. She told me to f*** off. That’s about it.

Got a call from an Indian lady claiming there was an issue with my internet. I told her I'd contact my service provider and to try scamming someone else instead. She ended up telling me to f*** off. That pretty much says it all.

Kind of like what others have said, I blocked the number straight away. But seriously, who’s to blame when people manage to get phone numbers just to bother others? It’s getting ridiculous.

I left a quick 'bye' voicemail. After checking what others wrote, I’ve decided to block the number. If anyone keeps getting calls from this one, it might be worth reporting it to Ofcom since they pay more attention when it’s happening loads.

Got a call from 0161 6882931 saying they were from BT, but the people on the line spoke with thick Indian accents and it was hard to follow what they were saying (no offence, just my own struggle as a Scouser!). They kept cutting me off and repeating the same things over and over. Then they sent me to another person, but as soon as I mentioned being on the TPS list, they just ended the call.

In the past thirty minutes, they've ringed me two times. I let it go to voicemail, but all I got was some robotic voice simply saying 'Goodbye'.

Totally with everyone here, ofcom really ought to step in. These calls are just so annoying and a proper nuisance.

The call just cut out right away. How much longer is it going to be before technology can actually stop this? Surely Ofcom should step in and do something about it?

Got two calls today from this number on 10/10/18. First time it just disconnected straight away. Then I let it go to voicemail the second time, and they hung up again. Strange!

Got loads of calls from someone saying they were with BT Openreach, warning me my internet speed was all over the place - sometimes slow, sometimes fast (nothing new there really). They said they could sort it out right away, but when I asked for their info to report them to the police, the line just went dead on me! Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.
